This announcement of the creation of the World Federation of Democratic Youth was released after the World Youth Conference in London in 1945. Mollie attended the Conference as a delegate of the United States.

United Auto Workers recruit union members outside the Curtiss Wright Corporation airplane plant in Buffalo, New York. Mollie West's first husband, Carl Lieber, helped start the Chicago chapter of UAW and is in the left side of this photo.

This press release announced that the House Un-American Activities Committee would hold hearings on youth Communist activities. Mollie West would be called for these hearings because of her previous involvement with the Young Communist League.
