When a monument to Nicolaus Copernicus at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium was proposed in the early 1970s, the Legion of Young Polish Women donated $10,000 to the project - more than any other organization.

Upholding Polish traditions and customs as well as promoting Polish cultural has become a driving force behind much of the Legion's work.

Since its inception, the Legion of Young Polish Women has provided one-time donations as well as continued financial support to Polish cultural organizations throughout Chicago and the United States. Here you will find but a sample of the projects and organizations the Legion has supported over the years.

From early in their history, the Legion of Young Polish Women has provided signifiscant support for the Polish Museum of America.

With financial support from the Legion, the Polish Museum of America published a collection of letters by Thaddeus Kosciuszko, a Polish military leader in the American Revolution.

Since the 1960s, the Legion has annually sponsored a purchase prize at the Polish Arts Club Fine Arts Exhibition. Click to explore the full exhibit program.

The Legion often offered their support to non-Polish cultural organizations, such as the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society, when they put on Polish programs.
