Account of the Abipones, an equestrian people of Paraguay…(London, 1822)

Dobrizhoffer worked as a missionary among the Abipón peoples of Paraguay for 18 years between 1749 and 1767. This account of his experiences (originally published in Latin as Historia de Abiponis equestri, bellicosaque Paraquariae natione) is considered a valuable early example of modern objective ethnography.
